The legal department at GCAA plays a pivotal role in supporting the federal government of UAE in drafting the Federal laws relevant to Civil Aviation. The department also helps ensure compliance with legal matters relevant to GCAA’s role and internal operations.
The main responsibilities of the department are:
- Ensuring legal compliance with regulations
- Managing all matters related to cases in local, administrative, labor and international courts
- Reviewing portfolio of legal consultants and manage external legal advisors
- Providing legal advice on different areas, including:
- Regional and international disputes
- Bilateral and international agreements
- Human resources matters
- Suppliers contracts
- Financial institutions matters
- Laws and regulations changes
The Legal department includes two units:
- Regulatory Legal Services
- Corporate Legal Services
